The Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with a Russian delegation dedicated to expanding bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector. The parties discussed key areas of interaction, including certification, supply, and localization of drug production.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to certification and the organization of imports of orphan drugs and vaccines into Uzbekistan. The parties also discussed prospects for establishing joint ventures and localizing drug production within Uzbekistan's special economic zones, including the Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster.
The negotiations and subsequent B2B meetings were attended by Vasily Yuryevich Shimko, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of SHIMCO GROUP, as well as the management of CHIRANA ASIA (a part of SHIMCO GROUP). Representatives of SHIMCO GROUP and CHIRANA ASIA held substantive consultations with Uzbek partners on technology cooperation, supplies of medical devices and pharmaceutical substances, as well as participation in investment projects to create joint high-tech production facilities.
Purposeful B2B meetings were organized for the Russian participants with over 25 local pharmaceutical companies, during which the parties discussed opportunities for finding potential partners, cooperation in distribution, and technology transfer.
The agreements reached are aimed at further deepening integration between the pharmaceutical markets of Russia and Uzbekistan, increasing the availability of medicines, and developing joint production capacities.
